Respite care to ease your mind.

At our Avalon Assisted Living Residences in Bridgewater and Hillsborough, New Jersey, we offer a special short-term Respite Care program for individuals recovering from an illness, or after discharge from a hospital, post-acute care or rehabilitation stay. 

Often, seniors are not quite ready to return home and may need a little more time to rebuild their confidence and strength. Families may also need more time before their loved one returns home to arrange schedules or living accommodations.

Some families take advantage of our respite care services when they leave town for business or vacation and are unable to take loved ones along. A short-term stay at The Avalons lets a loved one live in a safe and nurturing environment, giving family peace of mind. Others use our respite services as a test to see if their loved one likes our accommodations before committing to a long-term stay.

The Avalons’ Short-Term, Respite Care program offers these services:

• Recuperation to rebuild strength and confidence before returning home
• Onsite rehabilitation program
• 24-hour licensed nursing care on the premises
• Assistance with activities of daily living and medications management, if needed

Our respite care program provides temporary residents with the same superb services as our permanent residents including nutritious meals, personal assistance with daily living activities, daily housekeeping, daily social and cultural activities, social interaction, and much more.
